Paul’s Final Warning
“…13For the circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. 14But as for me, may I never boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation.…” Galatians 6:14

Why Do I Need a Savior?

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” — 1 John 1:5

Something about these songs…

Matthew 19:26 (NIV)  Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

What do YOU believe?  We believe that with God all things are possible!

Most people have many beliefs.  Some beliefs are very similar… others, not so much.  Music in worship often accompanies controversy and there are many beliefs on the subject.  We choose to believe that we should put our faith in God and worship with our with music in the way we are inspired to do so.  The idea of what we believe drives the message of the song “I Believe (In Jesus Messiah)”.  It leads our featured music for this season.  Check it out — sing along — listen to other selections in our featured playlist!  WE pray that it inspires you in your worship of our GOD of all possibilities!

As is often the case, the Spirit moved me in the early morning hours to get out of bed and make a simple recording of the ideas for the song “I Believe.”  The music and lyrics came together faster than what is typical.  The words “I believe…” were obviously the anchor as I scribbled down the lyrics that defined a list of beliefs.  I liked the sing-song sound of the lyrics and tune.  Then I added a bridge to reinforce it and lead into some instrumental before a repeat of the beliefs, chorus, and out.

I picked the song up a few days later.  I thought it was kind of interesting, but just OK.  Mark had been pushing me to open more arrangements with a big chorus.  So, I did some re-work.  Our younger brother, John, and his wife were visiting from Sora, Panama.  I played the song for them, and they had some comments that I worked into the arrangement.  A few weeks later, I laid down tracks with acoustic and electric guitar and vocals.  I liked the harmonies, but I wasn’t big on this song.  It was OK.  Still, I sent it to Mark to see what he thought.

A week or so later I got a new production of the song back and WOW!  Mark engineered the production, added a high energy drum part and the lead guitar.  It was a new song!  It became a powerful expression of Almighty God… or so it played to me.  With just some additional engineering, it became the song it is now.  We hope it will help inspire you in your faith and belief in JESUS, the GOOD NEWS, and that with GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!
